=====Budget & Independent Film===== ===='B' for 'budget'==== | ~~isbn:B00007JMCX~~ | __The Man Who Fell to Earth__ | | ~~isbn:B00005NG6A~~ | __When Worlds Collide__ | Classic science fiction story with some incredible characters; the heroic, the villanous, and the stupid. | | ~~isbn:B000E8NRUS~~ | __Delicatessen__ | Beautifully dark comedy with some of the most hilarious scenes that I've ever seen. It is about a horrible circumstance of starvation, cannibalism, love, sex, music, and butchering your grandparents, all set in a decrepit apartment complex run by the mad butcher. [[http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0684500/|Dominique Pinon]] is funny and lovable, a perfect match for [[http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0235342/|Marie-Laure Dougnac]]. The rest of the cast are amazing. The film has the same dark feel as City of Lost Children and Brazil, but not as fatalistic. It is not as easy to fall in love with as Amélie, but most of the scenes are a perfect 10 for dark humor. | ===='B' for 'bouncy'==== | ~~isbn:B0006IUDPS~~ | __Candy Von Dewd__ | This film is a tasteless eroto-comic ode to Barbarella. Blunt and hilarious. Quote: "Man, he's really fucking that plant!" Review: https://securehost2.zen.co.uk/headpress/Online_CG_CandyVonDewd.asp | | ~~isbn:6305077495~~ | __Cat People__ | I'm no feline fanatic, nor horror, nor fantasy, but the story is well told and honest. [[wikipedia>Nastassja Kinski]] is beautiful and poingnant, and during the film, often naked. Although horror, the film is really a love story from start to finish, perhaps a far more interesting love story than if there were no feline involvement. | | ~~isbn:B000AYYVCY~~ | __Teenage Exorcist__ | The acting is terrible, the special effects a parady of the industry, the film cheezier than the bad joke about the difference between werewolves and beavers, but the mishmash of haphazard innuendo, comic foray, bondage, S&M, and loose references to the original Exorcist film make this film much more worthwhile than the original. It is really not worth taking a film seriously if its topic is as fucking ridiculous as demons and exorcism. The film is not as fun or punchy or as raunchy as it could have been, but the bondage and comic S&M scenes make up for it. | | ~~isbn:B0001MMFNM~~ | __Black Cobra Woman__ | Plot like a ruined negligee, the dry characters are only saved by the beautiful Black Cobra Woman, the gratuitous nudity, lesbian sex scenes, and incomprehensible love triangles between the women and the snakes and the dumb men. The women and snakes are the purpose of the film. The men really only serve as plot devices to bridge sexual escapades and to languidly kill off the heroines of the film. Released in 1980 the film displays a sexual freedom, eloquent tension, and brutal honesty that is rarely seen in more recent pictures. | ===='B' for 'bad'==== Never mind. There are simply too many to list. =====Popular Film===== | ~~isbn:B0007Q6VXC~~ | __House of Flying Daggers__ | HK film| | ~~isbn:B0006Z2NMW~~ | __Robot Stories__ | | ~~isbn:B0007N1JC8~~ | __Primer__ | | ~~isbn:B0006IIPIK~~ | __Sky Captain__ | | ~~isbn:B00003CXXP~~ | __AI__ | | ~~isbn:B000E1YVZU~~ | __Rent__ | Very true to the broadway musical.
