daVinci Concept (+)

December 2002 - active daVinci Concept™

The da Vinci Concept is a framework for designing and developing problem solutions and method. The problem solving framework that is being developed is meant to be employed by a non-profit foundation that accepts proposals from virtually any source. Proposals would not necessarily meet with venture capital funding or an immediate grant source, but rather be provided a problem solving service. Successfull solutions would pay for their own development and the consumer of the service would share the benefits of the sucessfull endeavor. The vision of the da Vinci Concept model is to enable every ingenuitive mind the resources of the modern day da Vinci. The framework developed would provide a means to sort and analyze the potential clients of the foundation as well as provide development environments for problem solvers. The framework also provides a means for the sharing, classification, and retention of proprietary information. The da Vinci Concept provides a new model for research and development efforts. When a problem is unsolveable, but based on reasonable premises, the framework will even provide direction to be applied intellectually, economically, and politically. The system might be thought of as an 'open think-tank' that utilizes diverse talent, multidisciplinary methods, and the application of generalized methods to solve heterogeneous real world problems.

Poetic Publishing Company (+)

Poetic Publishing™ - Jul. 1999 - active

Poetic Publishing is a means to market for collaborative writing of all kinds. It is the publishing medium through which the daVinci Concept and Definite Industries communicate with the academic and intellectual communities, and the medium through which members of the daVinci Foundation and employees of Definite Industries communicate. It is a general forum and publishing mechanism, providing tools and expertise. It is on open community enabling writers and illustrators to submit work and rate, critique, and review the work of others. The company is meant to be a true service business. PPC provides the tools for the sharing of written work, users provide their work, and for profit publishers pay for the service that the users and PPC provide in sorting junk from brilliance. Like many of my projects, this one has been worked on, but slowly as I have not looked for funding or had outside help in development. I have recently abandoned my software development efforts in this area in lieu of my larger goals. This is a compromise of the functionality desired for the site, but a necessary one. The Poetic Publishing website is now based on several open source software packages including; PHP, mySQL, e107, PHPcollab, PHPwebwiki, and several java projects. Some development work will be conducted, but as modules for the open source software packages that now make up the Poetic Publishing website.

Definite Industries (+)

Definite Industries™ - 2001-2004 - active

In contrast and complement to the da Vinci Concept, Definite Industries is an effort to create both a marketing structure and grant funding source for venture solutions created by the da Vinci Concept foundation. Definite Industries fits into the da Vinci Concept model by providing a consistant means to market for new solutions. Whereas the foundation must make the means of obtaining solutions soluble, Definite Industries provides a means to market through government and private grants, venture capital, and internal funding. An existing problem for many independent entrepreneurs and inventors is their lack of a governing body or capital body to provide an investment solution. Without such a foundation such individuals and emerging businesses will not be able to obtain funding without significant resources. Definite Industries is an attempt to solve this problem. It might be said that a da Vinci Concept foundation invests in the idea and that Definite Industries invests in the solution.

Dreams Desiring Complexity (o)

Dreams Desiring Complexity - © 1992-2002 - complete

During the last ten years my poetry has taken small steps from my introspective, sometimes beautiful, sometimes naive questioning. I stopped adding to this compilation during my softmore year of college. It represents me and my dreams, on paper when I couldn't define them in more concrete form. The work represents me looking back over my shoulder at a landscape that was once mine, a path that was at one time a very interesting 'now', and now only series of stepping stones to 'here'. When first compiled I was sure I was going to publish all of it. It was my determination to find a publishing medium that led me to the ideas behind Poetic Publishing. I’ve since decided that I would only publish after extensive editing. The work doesn’t have any artistic goal, and stands as more of a fragmented and poetic autobiography or memior. Most of the poetic themes used in my previous work would misrepresent my current values and devalue my current work in other areas. I will publish some of my early work, but only after rigorous editing.

Research Web (-)

Research Web - 2002-02 - inactive

I created several websites during my time as an undergraduate at University of Nevada, Reno. Some of these sites were developed for the University and others for myself and private interests. A couple were url and web research repositories for use in collaborating internet research. Most of these have all been decommisioned in lieu of my lack of interest in continued development.
